What ToolHive Shipped in 2024

A year of faster workflows, stronger compliance, and less stress

2024 was a big year for ToolHive, and not just because we finally cleaned up our internal tool list (yep, we’re using our own product more than ever). Over the past 12 months, we’ve released a bunch of features that make compliance easier, collaboration smoother, and oversight more complete.

Here’s a quick roundup of what we shipped and why it matters for you.

✅ Improve Mode: Find What’s Missing (Without the Guilt Trip)

You know that tool record with three empty fields and one sad-looking contract from 2019? Improve Mode highlights what’s missing and lets you decide what to fix or ignore.

No pressure. No red flashing lights. Just clarity.

📌 Task List: Make Compliance a Team Sport

You can now create your own tasks and assign them to others in the Notification panel. Whether it’s “Upload DPIA for marketing tool” or “Finally check if we need a DPO,” you can break the work down and get it done without drowning in email.

📜 Law Indicators: Transparency for Every Question

We added law indicators to many of our questions so when we ask for something, you’ll know exactly why. Whether it's Article 30 of the GDPR or a NIS2 requirement, the legal source is right there.

Helpful for learning. Even more helpful when someone asks, “Why do we have to fill this in?”

⚡ Quick Setup: Add Tools in Seconds

Adding a new tool or vendor? We redesigned setup so that just one page is required. Click “Done” and the rest is auto-filled or ready to improve later. That’s what we call Minimum Viable Pain.

🔐 Secure Sign-In: No Passwords, No Problem

We’ve fully moved to passwordless sign-in. It’s faster, more secure, and one less thing for your CISO to worry about. Use one of the many providers like Google, Microsoft or GitHub. No passwords stored, ever.

🧠 Advanced Approvals: Real Oversight, Not Bottlenecks

We upgraded our approvals system so you can:

• Require approvals from multiple people
• Review multiple changes at once
• See a full audit trail of decisions

Compliance doesn’t have to mean chaos. Now it means collaboration.

⌨️ Keyboard Shortcuts: For the Power Users

We added quick shortcuts to make daily work smoother:

• W to watch tools or change requests
• C to leave a comment
• Ctrl+K / Cmd+K to open the command menu

Use ToolHive like a pro. Or at least like someone who doesn't want to click ten times to open one tab.

What’s Next?

We’re not done. In 2025 we’ll continue making ToolHive more proactive, more integrated, and even easier to use across teams.

But for now? We’re proud of what we shipped in 2024 and hope it’s making your job a little less painful and a lot more effective.
